SOLO LEVELING IS BACK: NEW MOVIE, RAGNAROK RETURN AND BIG 2026 UPDATES

Solo Leveling fans have a lot to talk about in 2026. After the huge success of Season 2, Sung Jinwoo’s story is officially moving forward — but not exactly in the way many fans expected. The biggest news is that a new Solo Leveling anime movie, titled Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, has officially been announced. The movie was revealed at Anime Expo 2026 by Aniplex and Crunchyroll and will continue Jinwoo’s story after the events of Season 2. A-1 Pictures, the studio behind the anime, is also returning for the project. The important part is that Beyond the System is a theatrical movie, not Season 3. As of September 2026, no official release date for the movie has been announced. There is also no officially announced Season 3 release date yet, so fans should be careful with social-media posts claiming that a specific Season 3 date has already been confirmed. Meanwhile, the Solo Leveling universe is still expanding through Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, which follows Sung Suho, the son of Sung Jinwoo and Cha Hae-In. The Ragnarok manhwa went on hiatus earlier this year, while the story continues to attract attention from fans waiting to see what happens to the next generation of hunters. Tapas previously confirmed that the second season had ended and that the series would return with a third season. There is also plenty happening in the gaming side of the franchise. Solo Leveling: ARISE has received several major updates during 2026. Recent updates added new hunters, story content, weapons and gameplay features. One August update introduced Lee Joohee as a new SSR Hunter, along with additional difficult story modes and a new Sung Jinwoo weapon. And that is not all. In July, the game also introduced a new version of Sung Jinwoo connected to the Monarch of Shadows, giving players another powerful version of the main character to use in battle. So, while fans are still waiting for a traditional Season 3 announcement and release date, the Solo Leveling franchise is far from finished. A new anime movie is officially in development, Ragnarok is continuing its story, and Solo Leveling: ARISE is receiving regular new content. For fans of Sung Jinwoo, the wait may be frustrating — but the System is definitely not shutting down yet.
